Hi, I’m Chichu Raju — a freelance digital marketer in Alappuzha with a mic in one hand and a laptop in the other.
If you had told me nine years ago, when I first sat behind a radio console, that I’d one day call myself a freelance digital marketer in Alappuzha, I probably would have laughed. Back then, my world was frequencies, cue cards, and the red “ON AIR” light. Today, it’s SEO audits, content calendars, and Instagram Reels — but honestly, the job hasn’t changed as much as you’d think. It’s still about one thing: telling a story that makes someone stop, listen, and feel something.
That’s what I bring to every brand I work with.
ITS ME PAGE
From Alappuzha to the airwaves — and back again
I grew up in Alappuzha, Kerala, and that backwater-city energy — warm, a little chaotic, deeply community-driven — is baked into everything I create. Over the last 9+ years, I’ve built a career as an on-air radio presenter and content producer, working across stations like Radio Neythal 107.8, Club FM 104.8, and currently Suno 87.6 / Suno 91.7 in Bahrain. Along the way, I’ve:
- Hosted and directed 3,000+ live broadcasts
- Conducted 500+ celebrity and public-figure interviews, many of which were repurposed into digital content that pulled in multi-million social media views
- Planned and executed 100+ live audience events
- Won a Pepper Award (Silver) and won a finalist for excellence in content and campaign execution
- Delivered critical public-safety broadcasts during the 2018 Kerala floods, when radio wasn’t entertainment — it was a lifeline
None of that happened on a script that someone else wrote for me. Every campaign, every segment, and every sponsor partnership was something I had to conceptualize, pitch, produce, and deliver — usually live, usually with zero room for a second take. That kind of pressure teaches you how to communicate with real people, not algorithms. It’s a skill I’ve carried straight into digital marketing.
Why I call myself a digital marketer now
A few years ago, I started noticing something: the same instincts that made a radio segment work — a strong hook in the first five seconds, knowing exactly what your audience wants before they know it themselves, building a “regular” who tunes in every single day — are the exact instincts that make content perform online. So I started building Go Digital with Chichu, my digital marketing practice, to bring that broadcast-honed storytelling into the digital space.
As a freelance digital marketer, here’s what I actually do for clients and brands:
Social Media Strategy & Content Creation I plan, write, and produce content calendars for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn — captions that sound like a real person, not a corporate press release, and Reels scripted with real hooks, pacing, and watch time in mind, because I’ve spent nine years learning what makes someone keep listening instead of switching the dial.
SEO Audits & Competitor Analysis I dig into a website’s search performance, benchmark it against competitors, and put together clear, presentation-ready SEO audit reports that businesses can actually act on — no jargon, no fluff, just what’s working, what isn’t, and what to fix first.
Copywriting & Brand Storytelling Whether it’s a caption, a script, a LinkedIn article, or campaign copy for a brand like Crocs, I write the way I broadcast: conversational, warm, and human. I believe the moment your content sounds like a template, you’ve lost your audience.
Event Anchoring & Brand Partnerships From co-hosting large-scale culinary events to managing sponsor-backed on-air campaigns, I know how to represent a brand live, in front of a real audience, with zero safety net.
Campaign Ideation & Digital Strategy I don’t just execute—I conceive. Signature campaigns I’ve built from the ground up (like Little Santa, Dance Day, and Water Bell) have become recurring audience touchpoints, and that same ideation-to-execution mindset now shapes the digital campaigns I build for clients.
The Alappuzha advantage
Being based between Kerala and Bahrain isn’t a limitation — it’s actually my biggest strength as a freelance digital marketer. I understand the Gulf Malayali diaspora audience in a way most agencies simply don’t, because I am that audience. I speak the language — literally, in Malayalam and Manglish, and figuratively, in the cultural references, humour, and emotional beats that make content resonate with this community. If your brand wants to genuinely connect with people in Alappuzha, across Kerala, or with Malayalis in the GCC, that local-meets-global perspective is exactly what I bring to the table.
What working with me actually looks like
I’m not interested in vanity metrics or generic strategy decks. After 9+ years of live radio — where you can’t fake a connection with your audience, because they’ll simply switch you off — I’ve learned that the only content strategy worth building is one rooted in honesty. When I take on a project, whether it’s a full social media strategy, an SEO audit, a content calendar, or campaign copywriting, I bring:
- Real broadcast-tested instincts for what actually holds attention
- Data-backed decisions, from competitor SEO analysis to Reels performance diagnostics
- A collaborative approach, working directly with marketing and sales teams to hit both brand and revenue goals
- A refusal to sound corporate, because nobody scrolls past a post to read jargon
Let’s build something real.
I’m Chichu Raju — a freelance digital marketer in Alappuzha, a radio presenter with 9+ years on air, and someone who genuinely believes the best marketing doesn’t feel like marketing at all. It feels like a person talking to another person.
If you’re a business in Alappuzha, across Kerala, or anywhere in the Gulf looking for a digital marketing partner who understands both the data and the human being on the other side of the screen, I’d love to hear about what you’re building.
Let’s go digital — together.
