Freelance Digital Strategist in Alappuzha — Meet Chichu Raju

Hi, I’m Chichu Raju — a freelance digital strategist in Alappuzha, with a microphone in one hand and a laptop in the other.

Nine years ago, my world was radio studios, cue cards and the red ON AIR light. Today, it includes SEO audits, content strategies, social media, digital campaigns and Instagram Reels.

But the core of what I do hasn’t really changed.

I help ideas find people.

Whether it’s through a radio show, a social media campaign, a Reel, a website or a brand story, I’m interested in one thing: creating communication that makes people stop, listen, watch, remember and respond.

From Radio to Digital

I grew up in Alappuzha, Kerala, and started my professional journey behind a microphone.

Over the last 9+ years, I’ve worked as a radio presenter, content producer and creative communicator across Radio Neythal 107.8, Club FM 104.8 and Suno 87.6 / Suno 91.7 in Bahrain.

During that journey, I’ve hosted and directed 3,000+ live broadcasts, worked on 500+ celebrity and public-figure interviews, and been part of 100+ live audience events.

Many of those conversations and broadcasts eventually moved beyond radio and into digital platforms, generating millions of views across social media.

I’ve also received a Silver at the Pepper Awards and recognition as a finalist for excellence in content and campaign execution.

But the numbers are only part of the story.

Radio taught me something that I still carry into digital marketing:

Attention is earned.

You have only a few seconds to make someone curious enough to stay.

That understanding of people, timing, storytelling and audience behaviour became the foundation for my work in digital marketing.

Why Digital Marketing?

The move from radio to digital felt more natural than I expected.

The platforms changed.

The screens changed.

The algorithms changed.

But people didn’t.

A strong opening still matters.
Understanding your audience still matters.
Good storytelling still matters.
And people still connect with communication that feels human.

That’s why my work as a freelance digital strategist in Alappuzha focuses on the intersection of content, social media, SEO, storytelling and creative communication.

I don’t look at digital marketing as simply posting content every day.

I look at it as understanding:

Who are we talking to?
What do they care about?
What should we say?
Where should we say it?
And what happened after we said it?

What I Do

Content Ideation

Every piece of content needs a reason to exist.

I work on content ideas for Reels, social media posts, videos, campaigns and brand communication, looking for the angle that can make an audience stop scrolling and pay attention.

Content Creation

From scripts and captions to social media concepts and video content, I enjoy being involved in the process from the first idea to the final piece.

My radio background helps me think about tone, timing, storytelling and audience behaviour — not just what looks good on a screen.

Social Media Content & Strategy

I help businesses build consistent and relevant content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

The goal isn’t simply to fill a content calendar.

It’s to create content that has a purpose — whether that’s awareness, engagement, communication, community building or business growth.

SEO & Digital Marketing

I also work across core digital marketing areas including SEO, competitor research, content planning and performance analysis.

For me, SEO isn’t about stuffing a page with keywords.

It’s about helping the right people discover useful information at the right time.

That’s the approach I bring as a freelance digital strategist in Alappuzha — SEO that helps real people find real answers, not just a page built to rank.

Brand Storytelling

I believe brands don’t always need to sound like brands.

They need to sound human.

From captions and scripts to campaigns and digital communication, I prefer a conversational approach that makes a brand easier to understand and connect with.

Creative Campaign Thinking

Some of my favourite projects begin with a simple question:

“What if we did it differently?”

I enjoy connecting an idea with an audience in a way that feels natural rather than forced — from the initial concept through content creation and execution.

What Makes My Approach Different?

My background sits between traditional media and digital media.

I’ve spent years understanding how audiences behave through radio — what makes someone stop, listen, laugh, participate or remember something.

Now I apply those instincts to digital.

That means I don’t see content as just a post.

I see it as communication.

A headline is an invitation.
A Reel hook is the first impression.
A caption is part of the conversation.
And analytics tell us what happened next.

That combination of creative thinking and digital marketing shapes the way I work.

The Alappuzha Connection

Alappuzha isn’t just the location attached to my keyword.

It’s where my story began.

It’s also why, whenever someone searches for a freelance digital strategist in Alappuzha, I want them to find someone who actually understands the place, not just someone targeting the phrase.

Being connected to both Kerala and the Gulf has also given me a perspective across two audiences.

I understand the language, humour, culture and everyday references that can make content connect with Malayalis, while my experience in Bahrain has exposed me to the digital habits and expectations of audiences across the GCC.

That perspective helps me create communication that can feel local when it needs to be and global when it needs to be.

Whether you’re a business in Alappuzha, somewhere else in Kerala, or serving Malayali audiences in the Gulf, that perspective becomes part of the work.

How I Work

I don’t believe digital marketing starts with:

“What should we post today?”

It starts with:

“What are we trying to achieve?”

From there, I look at the idea, audience, message, platform, content and performance.

My approach combines the creative instincts I’ve developed through years of radio with the tools and thinking of modern digital marketing.

Simple.

Human.

Purposeful.

And always open to experimentation.

The Story Behind the Whale

You might have noticed the whale in my logo.

It isn’t there just because whales look cool.

For me, the whale represents awareness.

A whale lives in an environment where staying aware matters. It needs to understand its surroundings and return to the surface to breathe.

I see the digital world in a similar way.

Platforms change.

Algorithms change.

Trends change.

And the way people consume content changes constantly.

What worked yesterday might not work tomorrow.

So the whale is a reminder to stay curious, observe what is happening and keep learning.

I don’t want to chase every trend.

I want to understand what’s changing before deciding whether I should follow it.

That’s what the whale means to me.

Stay conscious. Stay curious. Stay above the noise.

So, Who Am I?
